Central government payments - net borrowing requirement
Every month, the Debt Office presents the net outcome of the central government’s income and payments (the net borrowing requirement), which is part of the Official Statistics.
The net borrowing requirement corresponds to the budget balance with the opposite sign.
2024-05-08: The outcome of the net lending to agencies etc., and thereby also the budget balance and net borrowing requirement, is not entirely correct as a result of a system error whereby a transaction was assigned to the wrong month. This has affected the reporting of these items in the columns for March and April of 2024 in the table below. The value of the transaction is approximately SEK 1 million. The outcome will be corrected during this year.
