New Head of Debt Management Department

The Debt Office has appointed Göran Robertsson as the new head of the Debt Management Department. He assumes his new position from 1 August.

"We are very pleased to present Göran as the new head of the Debt Management Department", says Hans Lindblad, director general of the Debt Office. Göran is highly competent within debt and asset management as well as in other areas of the financial markets.

Göran Robertsson is today head of the Analysis Division within the Debt Management Department. He has many years of experience from working in financial markets and covering different roles, including portfolio management. Before joining the Debt Office two years ago, Göran was deputy head of the Market Operations Department at the Riksbank. He has a research background and has conducted research in financial economics, focusing on portfolio management and investor behavior in the stock market.

"It will be great fun to lead the Debt Management into the future and develop the analysis and tools that I think we need to keep the Swedish government bond market at its highest quality," says Göran Robertsson.

The Debt Management Department is responsible for government borrowing and management of the central government debt. In addition, it is responsible for making loan plans and providing background material and analysis for long-term strategic decisions concerning the central government debt management.

The Swedish central government debt is currently SEK 1 310 billion, corresponding to 30 per cent of GDP and it is forecasted to be reduced to 26 percent of GDP by 2018.
