Processing claims

If a borrower with a government guarantee is unable to repay their loan, we must pay the borrower's debts to the lender. This is known as honouring the guarantee.

We then take over the lender's claim on the borrower and work actively to recoup as much of the amount as possible.

A claim may also arise as a result of our borrowers being unable to repay their loan to us. Just as when we have paid a guarantee holder's debts, we work to recoup our claim.

We assess each case individually and equal treatment is a fundamental principle. There are opportunities for us to come to agreements in which we can waive part of the claim, if justified for reasons relating to business.
